Supermoiré low-energy effective theory of twisted trilayer graphene

چکیده
Stacking three monolayers of graphene with a twist generally produces two moir\'e patterns. A structure then emerges at larger distance where the layers periodically realign. We devise here an effective low-energy theory to describe spectrum distances than lengthscale. In each valley underlying graphene, comprises one Dirac cone ${\bf \Gamma}_M$ point Brillouin zone and weakly gapped points K}_M$ K}'_M$. The velocities small gaps exhibit spatial dependence in moir\'e-of-moir\'e unit cell, entailing non-abelian connection potential which ensures gauge invariance. resulting model is numerically solved fully connected obtained, protected by combination time-reversal twofold-rotation symmetries.

Observation of low energy Raman modes in twisted bilayer graphene.
Two new Raman modes below 100 cm(-1) are observed in twisted bilayer graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition. The two modes are observed in a small range of twisting angle at which the intensity of the G Raman peak is strongly enhanced, indicating that these low energy modes and the G Raman mode share the same resonance enhancement mechanism, as a function of twisting angle. The ~94 cm(-1) ...
متن کاملTunable infrared phonon anomalies in trilayer graphene.
Trilayer graphene in both ABA (Bernal) and ABC (rhombohedral) stacking sequences is shown to exhibit intense infrared absorption from in-plane optical phonons. The phonon feature, lying at ~1580 cm(-1), changes strongly with electrostatic gating. For ABC-stacked graphene trilayers, we observed a large enhancement in phonon absorption amplitude, as well as softening of the phonon mode, as the Fe...
متن کاملInteger quantum Hall effect in trilayer graphene.
By using high-magnetic fields (up to 60 T), we observe compelling evidence of the integer quantum Hall effect in trilayer graphene. The magnetotransport fingerprints are similar to those of the graphene monolayer, except for the absence of a plateau at a filling factor of ν=2. At a very low filling factor, the Hall resistance vanishes due to the presence of mixed electron and hole carriers indu...
متن کاملThe Low Energy Effective Theory and Nucleon Stability
We show that the Standard Model Lagrangian, including small neutrino masses, has an anomaly-free discrete Z6 symmetry. Anomaly cancellation requires the number of family to be 3 mod 6. This symmetry can ensure the stability of the nucleon even when the threshold of new physics Λ is low as 10 GeV. All ∆B = 1 and ∆B = 2 (B is the baryon number) effective operators are forbidden by the Z6 symmetry...
متن کاملLow energy proton-proton scattering in effective field theory
Low energy proton-proton scattering is studied in pionless effective field theory. Employing the dimensional regularization and MS and power divergence subtraction schemes for loop calculation, we calculate the scattering amplitude in S0 channel up to nextto-next-to leading order and fix low-energy constants that appear in the amplitude by effective range parameters. We study regularization sch...
